CampoRosso
CampoRosso was founded in 2001 by Walter Van de Velde and Rossella Magli. It combines skills in technology, anthropology of communication and educational policies.
CampoRosso positions itself as a catalyst and an analyst of social uses and innovation processes in the education and training field, both in formal and informal contexts, critically examining the conditions for generating true impact as a structural change in the different learning contexts.
Our standpoint is that any innovation in Learning supported by technologies only partially relies upon the intrinsic features of technology tools but mostly upon the social negotiation processes among all the actors and the contexts involved. Our work focuses on:
- developing evaluation methods to analyse the critical factors affecting the social uses of technologies in learning contexts,
- co-designing innovative learning environments supported, OR NOT, by Information and Communication Technologies,
- translating research results into policy recommendations, taking into account the specificities of the different learning contexts.
Our qualitative research methods include participant ethnographic observations, action-research, various participatory design techniques with users.
